Our Accessibility Statement

The National Public Education Project CIC (NPEP) aims to provide accessible learning opportunities and information for everyone. We recognise that learners may have different communication, physical, sensory, cognitive and technological requirements, and we seek to remove barriers wherever reasonably practicable.

Relevant Legislation and Standards

We have regard to the Equality Act 2010 and our reasonable-adjustment obligations. We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as the technical target for this website.

We do not claim full compliance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA without appropriate testing. A full accessibility review has not yet been completed; testing remains outstanding. Where a feature is described below, it is either implemented or identified as requiring testing.

Accessible Website Design

The website is designed with the following features, where implemented and verified:

  • Responsive layouts that adapt to mobile, tablet and desktop screens.
  • Readable Montserrat typography with clear sizing.
  • Appropriate colour contrast using the NPEP brand palette.
  • A logical heading structure to support navigation.
  • Keyboard navigation for interactive elements.
  • Descriptive link text and clear instructions.
  • Alternative text for meaningful images.
  • Compatibility with common screen-reader software.
  • Accessible form fields where forms are present.
Some features above require formal testing before compliance can be confirmed. Until testing is complete, they are described as design intentions rather than verified outcomes.

Accessible Workshop Participation

Reasonable adjustment requests for live online workshops will be considered individually. Potential support may include:

  • Accessible written information provided in advance where practicable.
  • Clear joining instructions for online sessions.
  • Communication adjustments, such as allowing questions in writing.
  • Alternative ways of participating where reasonably possible.
  • Captions or transcripts where available.
  • Additional explanations of content where practicable.
  • Other appropriate arrangements depending on individual needs.
We do not promise specific technical features (such as live captioning) that have not been confirmed for a given session. Available support will be discussed with you when you request an adjustment.
